My name is Matthew Weidenbener; I am an actor, artist, and educator living and working in Chicago!
I graduated from Indiana University with my BFA in Musical Theatre in 2018 and moved here shortly after.
I have been involved in the arts since I was 10 years old. I fell in love with theatre at the age of 12. Nothing can make you feel more present than being onstage. Not only do I have a passion for performing onstage, but I am a strong believer the in power of Theatre for Young Audiences and I have a passion for youth theatre education. For many years, I have been a part of TYA productions, and now I find myself teaching theatre and dance to todays youth.
Outside of performing, I enjoy hiking, a nice craft beer, and hanging out with my dog, Lucy. Feel free to browse the site for production images, media, resume and contact information.
Thanks for visiting!
While navigating through the pandemic like the rest of the theatre world, Matthew has been able to stay creative with small dancing projects here and there, as well as teaching private dance lessons for kids through the Northbrook Parks District.
Matthew plans to resume a canceled contract due to Covid-19 this summer...details to come!
